Carmelo Anthony, who isn't expected to play until Sunday, has a contusion,
tendinitis and bone spurs in his right elbow.
Nuggets coach George Karl said shutting Anthony down has been "on the radar",
and when the injury got worse they decided to sit him for approximately one
week.
J.R. Smith, Linas Kleiza and even Chris Andersen have increased value in
his absence.
