"Limp Bizkit and Wes Borland have amicably decided to part ways," reads the release. "Both Limp Bizkit and Borland will continue to pursue their respective musical careers. Both wish each other the best of luck in all future endeavors." A Limp Bizkit shake-up has long been rumored, and fans started to have their suspicions confirmed when Durst wrote in an Oct. 6 post that the band, minus Borland, had been in the studio. Durst mentioned the group was once again working with Ruff Ryders producer Swizz Beatz, who contributed to last year's "Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water" (Interscope). Critically, Borland, whose abrasive, chopped style owed a debt to Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello, was often cited as the most adventurous member of the group. Expectedly, fan reaction has been angered and dismayed. A post from fan "Limp Korn" on the official site captured the general attitude: "This is a sad day in the Bizkit world. Limp Bizkit will suck from now on." Of late, there has been no word on when fans could expect a new Limp Bizkit album. Frontman Fred Durst has been preoccupied with the charitable, all-star rock-leaning cover of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On," and the singer told Billboard.com in July that he was planning to spend his time getting his film directing career off the ground. That film, "Wannabe," has since been shelved. While a group spokesperson could not be reached, earlier this week Interscope confirmed that a Limp Bizkit remix album would be released in late November or early December. Durst wrote on the site that the album would be titled "Limp Remizkit," and will feature reworkings by Borland. Earlier this year, Borland released an album with side project Big Dumb Face on Durst's Flawless Records, a joint venture with Interscope.
