The Heat coach had a ''long talk'' with NBA vice president Stu Jackson this week to voice his concerns about the way center Shaquille O'Neal is being officiated. Riley, whose most recent public complaints came after O'Neal received five questionable fouls Sunday against the Nets, said he was satisfied after speaking with Jackson, but it definitely was a balanced dialogue. ''I did not call about complaining,'' Riley said. ``Everybody will think that I did, but I didn't. I have real concerns, genuine concerns, about post play and how he's being officiated. ``I went through each and every item and made a great case for it, and he made his case for it, and we left it at that.'' Riley said one of his concerns was defenders impeding O'Neal's progress through the lane. Another was the amount of leverage defenders are allowed to use while O'Neal has the ball in the lane. ''This is where the old coach came out of Stu,'' Riley said. 'He said, `Well, you've got to get him to make a V cut every now and then. If he makes a V cut, and then they impede his progress, they'll call it. But if he's just trying to go from block to block in a straight line -- you've got to earn it.' '' The two also spoke about O'Neal getting called for offensive fouls on spin moves when he seems to use his elbow to gain an advantage. ''I made the example of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, when he used to start to go for his hook, his arms are coming up,'' Riley said. ``So if they're going to go up and under [O'Neal] on that, which is what they do, [the elbow] is coming back, and their head is going back. ``It always looks like they're getting hit. I can't remember anybody that really got hit.'' --
