The Mavericks were ecstatic about their recent trade that brought center
Tyson Chandler and point guard Raymond Felton from the New York Knicks - even
though the deal cost them six players, including PG Shane Larkin, a
first-round draft pick (18th overall) in 2013 that Dallas acquired from
Atlanta.
Larkin is the son of Barry Larkin, a Hall of Fame shortstop. Barry Larkin
also appears to be happy about the deal.
Barry told the New York Post that he's elated about the trade because: “
Dallas doesn’t do a good job of developing players. They’re in win-now
mode. [Coach] Rick Carlisle doesn’t know how to develop young players, and
Shane was a rookie. It always was a struggle for him to figure out what was
going on.’’
The Mavericks had high hopes for Larkin, but a foot injury derailed his
rookie season. He missed the first 10 games of the season and played in only
48.
Prior to the trade, Larkin told The News' Eddie Sefko he was pumped about
playing for the Mavericks' summer league team.
“After taking the whole year in perspective, now it’s time to make the jump
like I made between my freshman and sophomore season in college,” Larkin
said. “I’m here in Dallas working out with Coach [Rick Carlisle] five days
a week and getting an understanding of what he wants me to do in summer
league and how he wants me to attack.
“He [Carlisle] said: ‘We want you to come out of your shadow and show us
what you showed us in college. Play your game and implement some of the
things that we’re working with you on with your speed.’”
“Shane had a solid rookie year,” Carlisle said. “We want to see him
continue to get stronger and more aggressive in all areas. He is working very
hard right now to prepare for a very important summer.”
It's still a very important summer - for the Mavericks and for new New York
Knick Shane Larkin.
Shane Larkin的老爸Barry Larkin(前MLB明星)
Devin Harris Josh Howard JJB
Ager/Dojo
Beaubois
Larkin

Rubio +300 07/01 06:42
30F:→ yyjack :JJB:-280
