Not that Felton isn’t a capable point guard in return for the trading of Jose Calderon — as well as Samuel Dalembert and Shane Larkin. But Felton has fought weight issues and has an inconsistent shot, although he is a proven playmaker when it comes to running the team. His career has been solid, but unspectacular since being the No. 5 overall pick in 2005. But Harris might end up being the starter at the position, assuming he and the Mavericks can come to a sensible contract when free agency opens. Harris said last week that he wants to be in Dallas and now the playing time that was modest at times in the second half of last season when he returned from foot surgery would like be there in abundance. As with all major trades, there usually are other shoes to fall.
