Still, former Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Michael Finley, who spent the year working in the front office, says Nowitzki still has fuel left in the tank. “I think Dirk has two or three more years in him to play at the level he’s accustomed to playing at,” Finley said. “And with that, hopefully some good things can come to Dallas.” And by good things, Finley means big-name free agents. This summer, guys like LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade will hit the market, and you can bet the Mavs will throw their hat in the ring. After whiffing on Deron Williams two summers ago and Dwight Howard last year, owner Mark Cuban is still looking to reel in one of the ‘big fishies,’ as Nowitzki like to call them. “We have money to spend. Hopefully, some of those key free agents will want to come to Dallas,” Finley said. “We have a great city, we have a great organization and hopefully they’ll come by. We’ll see.
