The final game of the Dallas Mavericks' championship run was played against
the Miami Heat and it now appears their title defense will begin the same
way.
上一季的冠军战以小牛击败热火作为落幕，
而新的一季似乎会再度以小牛对上热火拉开序幕。
Just two weeks into its "nuclear winter," the NBA appears headed back to work
after a marathon negotiating session Friday in New York ended in the wee
hours of the morning with a tentative agreement that could soon end the
lockout after a vote by each side. A majority on both sides is needed to
approve it.
大概在两个礼拜就要进入了NBA的"核冬天"，也就是史腾说的最後时限。
NBA官方星期五凌晨在纽约的马拉松谈判会议上达成了初步协议，
在经过各个投票後很快就会结束封馆，请耐心等待批准吧！

If approved, a shortened, 66-game season will start on Christmas Day with the
originally scheduled national television matchup of the Heat coming to
Dallas. Dwyane Wade and LeBron James would seemingly also get to watch the
Mavs receive their championship rings and raise their 2010-11 championship
banner to the rafters of the American Airlines Center.
若成功开打，比赛将缩短为只有66场，在圣诞节当日开打，
小牛将会遇到原先预定的对手---热火队。
Wade和LBJ将可以一同观赏2011年冠军戒指的颁奖盛景，
以及目睹冠军旗帜的升旗典礼。
A full schedule will likely be released after both sides ratify the deal.
在双方达成协议後，一份完整的比赛行程表即将出炉。
Current dates of note include a Dec. 9 start to training camps and what will
be a frenzied free agency, a critical period for the Mavs, who have six free
agents including Tyson Chandler, Caron Butler, Jose Juan Barea and DeShawn
Stevenson.

As more details became clear about a more punitive luxury tax system,
Chandler had become vocal of his distaste for it because it meant it would
make it difficult for Dallas to re-sign him.
