Marion (wrist) out as Peja returns The injury carousel continues for the Dallas Mavericks as they gain a forward and lose one for Sunday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors. Shawn Marion, who sprained his right wrist in the first half of Friday’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs will sit out tonight’s game, while Peja Stojakovic, who has missed the last six games with a stiff neck, will be active. Marion said he plans to practice with the team on Tuesday, after an off-day Monday, and play in the next game which is not until Thursday. “I’ll be all right for the next game,” Marion said. “It’s cool. It’s a little tender and sore, but way better than it was before.” It’s uncertain how much Stojakovic will play. Mavs coach Rick Carlisle would only say that Stojakovic will be active. The team did not practice Saturday, although Carlisle said Stojakovic did put in some work. Against the up-tempo, smaller lineups of the Warriors, the Mavs have the luxury of playing a three-guard lineup. Shooting guard DeShawn Stevenson started at small forward Friday against the Spurs with Jason Kidd and Rodrigue Beaubois started in the backcourt. Little-used small forward Corey Brewer is also available. Marion is also still dealing with bruised ribs he sustained at New Orleans on March 8, although he didn’t miss any games.
