This is bad news for not only the Hamilton-or-busters, but really for every Mariner fan. Even if you did not find Hamilton enticing, you cannot like seeing him sign with a rival, especially one who was already a very good team. I might have even given him the deal that LA did, but I have a feeling we would have had to beat that offer by quite a bit. He probably never would have instantly brought the Ms to contention, but now there is almost no chance. No one or two players are going to be able to catch the Angels, at least for the next few years. That’s why it makes sense to stay put for now, and reassess next year or the year after. Then we can bring in a bat that will still be around when the Angels are old and the Ms have a chance to win. Bringing in Swisher on a 4-5 year deal when they won’t compete until the last two years of the deal, when Swisher is most likely no more than an average player, does not help. Wait it out, then make your big splash in 2014 or 2015. 水手根本就还没有什麽竞争力，补一个WAR 3.5-4 的正妹，顶多只能把我们拉到第三名 ，只补一两个好手，至少在未来几年都没办法拉近我们跟天使的差距。 所以继续观望的策略就变得有点道理了，晚点再补进一个可以长留到天使老去水兵奋起时 的棒子。给正妹4-5 年约，然後等到水手有竞争力时，他已经变成一个普通人了，这对水 手毫无帮助。 等待，然後在14'或15'好好洒钱。 As for option two, it is the only chance the Ms have at competing in the next year or two. They are way behind the Angels now, and it would take multiple top players to stay with them. I’m talking signing Swisher, Bourn and Edwin Jackson, no matter what it takes. Trading for Upton no matter what it takes. Doing whatever is needed to get the players that will keep you in the hunt. As hard as it is to admit, that may be the best option for this current Mariner team. 虽然很不想承认，但补进几个次级品应该是目前最好的选择。 ----- 个人意见：高层烂成这样，什麽都喊假的，2014也不用想砸钱补强。 很爱说天使之後会变老人战队，但人家就是愿意花钱，汉 米普神老到不行时还是愿意花50M 把这两只按在板凳上， 然後再花50M签两只巨星，根本就没有什麽『对水手来说 可以一较高下的时机』，人家会一直保持在追不上的状态。 任天堂快把球队卖一卖吧，没钱花就只能玩沙。 JZ问题也很大，如果老板不给钱，那就认真一点走光芒模式 啊，每个层级的农场都顾好（现在除了三小强还有富兰克林 ，其实根本就很荒芜），好好找寻5-8M年薪的功能性球员， 一开始可以去谈LaRoche或是认真交易Morse，要补外野Ross 也不错啊，结果跑去跟豪门凑热闹纯粹浪费时间。 结果现在我们得到些什麽？Bay，还有Boesch与Ibanez的乳摸 ，干这些连次级品都称不上好吗？ 省钱有省钱的玩法，可能一百年都拿不到冠军，但是还是有机 会进季後赛啊，现在能摸个边拿个外卡二大家就爽死了，总比 现在这种没盼望的鸟样还要好吧？ 在我看来，水手今年真正的补强是补进休士顿太空人。 --
