OAKLAND -- When the Mariners opened their three-game series against the Oakland
A's on Monday, they did so without first baseman Richie Sexson. Sexson was
placed on the bereavement list and left the team on Monday to be with his wife,
Kerry, who had an emergency Cesarean section in Seattle.

The twins were originally due to be born in September.

Major League Baseball states that a player who is placed on the bereavement
list must remain on the list for a minimum of three games.
根据大联盟的规定，被放到"bereavement list"的球员必须在这个名单上待上只少三场比
赛。
也就是说Sexson在这个系列战中将不会出席。
