Saved well low down to his left from Jake Livermore. 7 Antonio Valencia - 4 Ventured into the final third plenty of times as Juan Mata veered inside but you have to wonder how often he practises crossing at Carrington. Chris Smalling - 6 Governed Salomon Rondon well and otherwise had little to do as West Brom heavily relied on the counter-attack and set-pieces. Victor Lindelof - 5 In a game where United started three central midfielders, Lindelof's presence further forward was unnecessary. Unable to showcase his attacking qualities. Ashley Young - 5 Energetic but ineffectual. At times, he was the obvious option but his blinkered teammates failed to feed him the ball. Ander Herrera - 4 Could easily have won a penalty after Craig Dawson appeared to upend him. Otherwise, the Basque's passing was scratchy and he was substituted at half-time. Nemanja Matic - 4 On an afternoon where he was inessential against the basement club, Matic had little defending to do and did little attacking, too. Paul Pogba - 4 (唯一记忆点就是那个前排扣杀了.... Showcased plenty of style but little substance. Often played the wrong pass in counter-attacks and substituted before the hour mark. Juan Mata - 4 Began brightly with his infield running and incision but then became wasteful on the ball and faded in the second-half. Alexis Sanchez - 3 (我现在觉得374有时候像是防守中场... Full of endeavour but, like Mata, his darts inside merely further congested the middle and deprived United of natural width up front. So careless on the ball and angered the crowd at times. Romelu Lukaku - 4 Wasted an excellent opening and his touch was often awry. Worked tirelessly but lost Jay Rodriguez for West Brom's goal. Subs Jesse Lingard - 5 Squandered a good chance. Anthony Martial - 4 Timid.
