The internationally celebrated UK fashion designer was found dead at his home in London, in what is believed to have been suicide. In a statement, Madonna called him "a truly unique visionary in the world of fashion" and described his death as "a tragedy". West, writing on his blog in his traditional, capitals-only style, said: "MCQUEEN...SO DEVASTATING..HE WAS A GENIUS...HE WAS SO IMPORTANT AND SPECIAL....WE LOST AN ANGEL!" Meanwhile, Perry left the following message online: "Rest In Peace Alexander McQueen. Just woke up, so sad."
