The Taiwan All-Star Series will consist of five games played between November 1st-6th in three different cities - New Taipei City (XinZhuang Stadium) on November 1st, Taichung (Intercontinental Stadium) on November 3rd and 4th and Kaohsiung (Chengcing Lake Stadium) on November 5th and 6th. Each game will feature MLB All-Stars playing the Chinese Taipei national team and all games will be broadcast live in Taiwan by FTV, Major League Baseball's exclusive over-the-air broadcaster for regular season and Postseason games. 11/1 新庄 11/3 11/4 洲际 11/5 11/6 澄清湖 民视全程转播 The roster of MLB All-Stars headed to Taiwan is led by New York Yankees center fielder Curtis Granderson, who led the Major Leagues in runs scored (136) and ranked second in the Majors with 41 home runs, and his teammate Robinson Cano, who was second in the A.L. with 118 RBI. Detroit Tigers first baseman and American League batting champion (.344) Miguel Cabrera, currently playing in the American League Championship Series, will make the trip subject to his Postseason commitments. The roster also consists of 2011 National League All-Star third baseman Pablo Sandoval of the San Francisco Giants. Giants manager Bruce Bochy, who guided San Francisco to its first World Championship since 1954 in 2010, will manage the MLB All-Stars. Bochy's coaching staff will be comprised of his current Giants bench coach Ron Wotus, Giants bullpen catcher Billy Hayes, Los Angeles Dodgers pitching coach Rick Honeycutt and Tampa Bay Rays hitting coach Derek Shelton. From the World Baseball Classic to Opening Series, Spring Training Games and All-Star Exhibitions, together MLB and the MLBPA have dramatically expanded the platform for international events, bringing MLB teams and players to fans in Canada, China, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Taiwan and Venezuela. A travel package will be available to media wishing to cover the 2011 Taiwan All-Star Series. The package, which costs $1,000, includes roundtrip airfare from LAX to TPE, high speed rail from Taipei to Taichung, high speed rail from Taichung to Kaohsiung and sightseeing tours in Taipei and Taichung (tentative). Media members will be responsible for hotel accommodations near the workout venue and in each of the cities, which are not included in the package.
