Mariah: Honestly, the morning that I went, I was one of the people that announced the nominees right? so knowing that early is not really my thing. I was up early, I was there, I was like, 'Okay, I'm standing here, you know maybe I'll get a nomination." That would really be cool and I'll be excited. Mariah: Well Charmbracelet... first of all, both of those records had good songs on them to me but a lot of people didn't even bother to listen because of all the backlash from the movie so it was like between that and everything else that was going on in the world at that time, it was September 11th, when that whole thing started and it was just a bleak moment but I'm the same person I was before any dramas and rumors and nonsense. Before that I was the same person I was as a little kid - broke with no money you know with a dream so if I had changed with fame that had made me into a different person, I think all this stuff would have probably broken me.
