Liverpool forward Ben Woodburn has joined Scottish Premiership side Hearts on a season-long loan. Woodburn, who joined Liverpool’s academy as an under-7s player, had attracted serious interest from a number of clubs in Greece, Denmark and Croatia as wel l as the Championship in recent weeks. Hearts, however, have managed to get a deal over the line for Woodburn, who is now entering the final year of his deal at Anfield. Speaking to the official Hearts website, manager Robbie Neilson said: “I’m r eally pleased that we’ve got this one over the line. Ben is a top class playe r with Premier League and international experience and he was really eager to join us. “He’s an exciting player, one who I think will fit really well into our styl e of play. He’s quick, direct and can bring us different options in the final third. “I’m looking forward to working with him and I hope that he will be a succes s here at Hearts.” As The Athletic recently reported, some at Liverpool were reluctant to allow W oodburn to leave unless the right opportunity presents itself. This reluctance stems from how much the Wales international has impressed Jurgen Klopp and Li verpool’s coaching staff in pre-season.
