David Roberts
Position: Goalkeeper
Date of birth: 10/12/88
A strong willed keeper from the Wirral who was part of last season's under-16
squad. Dave is a highly promising custodian and one of the lynchpins of his
age group. His form this season has been impressive, especially in the Youth
Cup.
Josh Mimms
Position: Goalkeeper
Date of birth: 5/8/89
Son of former Everton and Tottenham keeper Bobby, like his dad Josh is a
goalkeeper and hails from Rotherham. He joined the club during the summer of
2005 and is the youngest full-time scholar at the Academy.
Stephen Darby
Position: Right-back and captain
Date of birth: 6/10/88
Maghull-born Stephen is of slight build but can more than hold his own when
up against big strong opposition players. Boasting a good positional sense,
he reads the game well and is very clever with his distribution of the ball.
Stephen can also play at left back.
Jordan Holmes
Position: Right-back
Date of birth: 12/1/88
A right-back who can also play at centre-half, Jordan joined the Academy aged
14. He likes to attack, can cross a ball well and boasts pace among is many
other attributes.
Godwin Antwi
Position: Centre-back
Date of birth: 7/6/88
Ghanaian defender who joined the Reds from Real Zaragoza in the summer of
2005. Tough and uncompromising, he's a regular in the reserve side and has
also operated as an emergency centre-forward at times this season.
Jack Hobbs
Position: Centre-back
Date of birth: 18/8/88
Highly-rated defender who joined the Reds last summer from Lincoln City
following a successful trial spell at Melwood. Another reserve team regular,
he can also play in the centre of midfield. Regarded as a hot prospect.
Robbie Threlfall
Position: Centre-back
Date of birth: 25/11/88
Operates on the left side of the central defensive partnership, Robbie is an
intelligent footballer who hails from the Woolton area of Liverpool. An
excellent passer of the ball, he reads the game well and would much prefer to
find a team-mate than lump a long ball out of defence.
Miki Roque
Position: Centre-back
Date of birth: 8/7/88
Spanish youngster recruited from Lleida before the start of the current
campaign. Highly-regarded as a bright prospect, he can also operate in
midfield but is only just returning from a hamstring injury sustained in
recent reserve win over Everton.
Ben Parsonage
Position: Winger
The only schoolboy member of the current Youth team squad, Ben is a
right-sided player who has been in good form for the under-16s this season.
Made his debut at this level in the previous round against Carlisle and
showed enough to suggest he has a bright future ahead of him.
Ryan Flynn
Position: Centre-midfield
Date of birth: 4/9/88
A central midfield player who can also play out wide, Ryan is from Falkirk
and joined the Reds during the summer of 2005. He has a great attitude and is
a real hard worker with a good touch.
Charlie Barnett
Position: Right-midfield
Date of birth: 19/9/88
Hailing from the Everton area of the city, Charlie may be a boyhood Blue but
his commitment to the Reds has never been in doubt. A right-sided midfielder
he is excellent on the ball, fast and a good dribbler.
Jimmy Ryan
Position: Centre-midfield
Date of birth: 6/9/88
Maghull-born Jimmy can boast a good work-rate and strong shot among his many
attributes. A never-say-die competitor, he has come through from last
season's under-16s side and is a quality player.
Paul Barrett
Position: Left-midfield
Date of birth: 15/9/87
Joined the Reds Academy after being released by Manchester City in September
2004. Quickly established himself as a regular in the under-18 side and was
soon turning out for the reserves. An exciting and creative player, he's
equally adept at beating defenders or executing a killer pass.
Adam Hammill
Position: Winger
Date of birth: 25/1/88
A left-winger from Seaforth with great potential, Adam has just started
training on a full-time basis at Melwood. Loves to take on defenders and is
also a good crosser of the ball. A regular member of the reserve team squad
and a very good prospect.
Paul Anderson <==我最看好他啦!
Position: Winger
Date of birth: 23/7/88
Talented winger who signed for Liverpool before Christmas from Hull City in a
swap deal that saw John Welsh move in the opposite direction. Fast, strong
and skilful, he's made impressive progress since and was named among the
substitutes for the first team's recent Champions League tie at home to
Benfica.
Michael Burns
Position: Left-midfield
Date of birth: 4/10/88
A left sided midfielder from Widnes, Michael possesses a really good touch,
is capable of whipping in dangerous crosses and can pass the ball well. Has
come through from last season's under-16 squad and is pushing hard for a
place in the England set-up.
Ryan Wignall
Position: Centre-midfield/striker
Date of birth: 12/3/89
A small central midfielder who can also be used in attack if required, Ryan
is from Toxteth and is one of the youngest members of the 2005/06 under-18
squad
Michael Nardiello
Position: Striker
Date of birth: 9/5/89
A big, strong, powerful centre forward who can put himself about, Michael is
from Torquay and was formerly with Manchester United. An England youth
international he signed for Liverpool during the summer of 2005 and is
another Academy player to appear for the reserves this season.
Jonathon Pringle
Position: Striker
Date of birth: 21/6/89
Strong and stocky, Jonathan is a striker from the Wirral who can also play in
the centre of midfield. A member of last season's under-16s team, he is a
talented player who can make things happen.
James Frayne
Position: Striker
Date of birth: 27/9/87
The nephew of former Liverpool goalkeeper David James is a pacy striker who
has also appeared at reserve level. He has a fiery temperment on the field
and a good will to win attitude.
Craig Lindfield <==小蟑螂??
Position: Striker
Date of birth: 7/9/88
A tall, slim striker from the Wirral, Craig possesses fine aerial ability and
has come through the ranks at the Academy. He can lead the line well and has
so far netted five times during this season's Youth Cup campaign, including a
hat-trick against Carlisle in the previous round.
我亮点其来的几个年轻球员都蛮不错的~ 尤其是Paul Anderson. 他速度奇快,又有技术,
难怪贝帅会愿意用John Welsh(曾被喻为Gerrard的接班人~)来换他
有E-ticket的版友可以看看他们的表现, 刚刚在FA youth cup半决赛第一回合以2:1战
胜圣徒. 进球的分别是J. Hobb(6')及Lindfield(13'), 真是令人期待呀!
