Kromkamp was left out of the Dutch squad for the friendly with Ecuador with coach Marco Van Basten insiting the full back must be playing regular first team football if he hopes to be on the plane to Germany in the summer. Kromkamp has started the last two matches for the Reds and performed well at right back against Charlton on Saturday. He insists he'll do all he can to force his way back into his country's plans for the summer finals, but for now he's more than happy to concentrate on club matters. "I'm happy with my own performance for the last two weeks. It's the first time I played right back on Saturday and I think I did okay," said Kromkamp. "I hope I get back into the World Cup squad. The manager has a policy you must be playing regularly well at your own club to be in the national team. Lately I have not been playing regularly, which is why I was not in the squad. "If you play at a great club like Liverpool. it's a great step up. I know I made a great choice and I can only get better as a player because I have great players around me.
