free variation:
alternative pronunciations of a word in which one sound is substituted
for another without changing the word's meaning; sounds differ phonetically
but are nonphonemic.
velarization and palatalization 的比较我不是很确定
但是应该是 the place of articulation吧~~(我看字面上觉得...^^)
