try to write down tree diagram.
In option d, Y regard as Yp; bcY regard YP's head, head Y project to YP.
so that, there will be limited recursive process.
answer b:
the subcatgorization of verb put:
put, verb[___NP PP]
Forexample: Mary put the book on the table
verb "put"takes NP: the book and PP: on the table
that is, take two arguments as its complement
from above my opinion, the correct answer is c.need
