1.Compare and contrast the two short talk-exchanges below in terms of the
so-called "maxims of conversation."
(1) Sales Clerk: Could I have your name?
Customer: It's Kathryn Riley.
(2) Husband: Shall we get the kids some snacks?
Wife: Sure. But I veto ice cream.
是因为maxim of quantity吗? 因为店员不需要问顾客的名字?丈夫只问太太要不要买?
所以他们讲太多? 不过Kathryn Riley 和 ice cream 有特别标注,不知道是不是暗示什
麽??@@
2. Examine the following Ilokano data. Note that [.] between two vowels
represents a syllable boundary and [:] represents a long vowel.
root progressive
basa ag-bas-basa
adal ag-ad-adal
da. it ag-da:-dait
sa. It ag-sa:-sait
takder ag-tak-takder
trabaho ag-trab-traboho
root plural
klase kla-klase
kaldi kal-kaldi
pusa pus-pusa
jyanitor jyan-jyanitor
(1) How is the progressive formed in Ilokano?
(2) How is the plural formed in Ilokano?
我ㄧ开始是想说是 root 重复 first syllable
不过好像只有
da. it ag-da:-dait
sa. It ag-sa:-sait
是这样
不知道该如何解释??...
谢谢大家
