Rose helped push the Bulls' winning streak to eight with, get this, his defense
on Nets playmaker Deron Williams (1-of-12 Thursday as New Jersey's five-game
winning streak ended). Chicago tops the NBA with a 21-9 (.700) record against
winning teams. As for Rose's help, don't forget that the Bulls are 35-14 without
Carlos Boozer, Joakim Noah or both.

Coach Stan Van Gundy considers this to be Howard's best season, though --

Nowitzki posted double-doubles in three consecutive games, averaging 29.0
points and 11.3 boards while hitting 52.7 percent of his field goals and 100
percent of his free throws (26 of 26). The Mavericks are 11-2 when their
leader gets a double-double -- what's up, Kevin Love? -- and 7-3 when he
scores 30 or more.

Bryant picked a light-schedule week to nurse his way back from a sprained
left ankle. His stats were modest -- 16.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 4.0 apg -- but on
a per-minute basis, Bryant's numbers are up from a year ago, when he finished
third in MVP balloting.

James still leads the Heat in points, assists and steals but Dwyane Wade has
topped the team in scoring 33 times to James' 30 and in rebounds 18 times to
James' 17. Then there is the fact that James will win fewer games this year

greatest game of his career. Hard to say, but the thin man did score 29 points
with seven rebounds and six assists, and his 13-of-21 shooting included
10-of-15 when guarded by LeBron James.

"It's winning time," Paul said, which has nothing to do with Charlie Sheen.
