标题[问题]关於时态

1.If you worked hard,you would gain a lot of money.
2.If you had worked hard yesterday,you would have gain a lot of money.
我想请问
前例1与例2的 would 和 would have是出现在假设语句中
可是常常在阅读文章的时候
wuold/could/would have/could have
这几个词的出现
有时候往往并不伴随着if的假设句法
而且文章的脉络也不表示这是个时态处於过去的句子
以would为例:
3.Criminals can do it a lot easier than most people could imagine.
4.I don'y think many people would like to sit for such a long time in
the theaters.My bum would go into a coma.
例3与例4 .. 嗯!以前学过may/might/could/would这一类的词
可表"较为礼貌的语气"或"不太确定的语气"
可是去问外国老师的时候
关於这样的词,解释为"较为礼貌的语气"或"不太确定的语气"
好像是东方人才会这样作解
西方人对於would/could这些字 本身就有其字义的解释
请问有人知道像这种没伴随 if , 又看不出是过去时态
would与could的使用,在什麽状态下才不会使用错误或正确使用呢?
以could have为例:
5.He is so handsome and such a good actor that he really
could have been a typical blockbuster star.
(例5.出自地球村生活美语11月份一篇关於强尼戴普的文章)
would have/could have 这一类词的使用
若不伴随if假设句,它该做什麽时态下解释呢?
还当作"与过去事实相反"解释吗?
