SHELBURNE: Lakers assistant Shaw says Finals bringing out old, hands-on Kobe

He has a limit. He also knows how to push past that limit.
他有极限，但他也知道怎样撑过这个极限。
Which is pretty much what Kobe Bryant has been doing the last month or so as
he willed the Lakers through the Western Conference playoffs and into the NBA
Finals despite playing more than 200 games in the past two calendar years.
抠比付出相当多，不管是过去这一个月做的，或是在西区冠军赛用意志力把湖人带进总冠
军赛，尽管他在过去这两年已经打超过200场的比赛了。
Tired for Bryant is a state of mind, not matter.
抠比的疲惫是心灵上的，不是物质上的。
But as the Finals have progressed, and Bryant's will has grown stronger and
more determined, Lakers assistant coach Brian Shaw has noticed a pattern from
the past re-emerging.
但是当总冠军赛进行时，抠比变的更强壮更有决心，微笑老萧注意到一个过去的模式又再
重新出现了。
"We always, at the end of the evening, can find areas during the game where
we say Kobe needs to move the ball more and get more people involved," Shaw
said. "But that's something that you just kind of have to take with him. Because
of his ability, he can take and make shots that most other players can't make."
「我们总是可以在比赛中找到一段是我们要提醒抠比多多传球，多让队友参与的时间，但
有些东西你又只能期待他来完成，因为他的能力可以投进别人投不进的球。」萧说。
Shaw said that over his years as an assistant, and a player alongside Bryant,
he's noticed how a "pecking order" emerges in the Lakers offense with Bryant
as the top option, and too often the only option.
萧又说在他当助理教练这麽几年在加上和抠比同队过，他注意到湖人进攻的「进攻优先权
」是如何出现的，抠比是第一选择，而太多时候是唯一选择。
"We tell our guys to start the offense away from him," Shaw said.
老萧再说「我们会告诉其他队员不要鸟抠比，开始进攻！」
"Use this side of the court, see your options over here; if nothing's there,
reverse it to him and now the shot clock's down and let him do his thing. But
when he's out there on the floor and he's doing his little signals asking for
the ball, there's kind of a pecking order that happens out there on the
court.
「好好创造机会进攻，如果找不到，把球丢回给抠比，进攻时间快到了，让抠比做他的事
。但是当他开始出现一些要球的讯号时，所谓的『进攻优先权』就出现了。」
"They don't want to piss him off, and they want to please the coaching staff as
well. But he's the closest one to them on the floor. So a lot of times they'll
force the ball into him with three people around him instead of making the right
play."
「他们不想扫他的兴，但也想遵照教练指示。他抠比是场上离他们最近的人，所以大部份
时间即使他旁边围了三个人了，他们还是会硬是把球交到他手上，而不是做正确的事。」
The only player on the Lakers who consistently does what the offense dictates
is Derek Fisher, Shaw said, with too many younger players deferring to
Bryant's commands.
只有一个人会坚持的完成进攻的指示，那就是老鱼(切入自杀原来是指示(笔记)...)，老萧
说，太多年轻球员都会迫於屈服在抠比的淫威之下。
"Some of the younger guys, they just want to make him happy," Shaw said.
"When I played, Shaq was the second ... there were two dominant players. So
if we went away from Kobe and threw it in to Shaq, what can he say? Now, who
is that guy that's on the same level that he's on? If they make a play over
here to Lamar (Odom) or somebody else and Kobe gets mad, then they're going
to play more to that because nobody's on that same level."
「一些年轻球员就只想捧他LP，我在打球的时候，大鲨鱼是第二选择(?)，有两个主宰性的
球员。所以我们如果不想鸟抠比的时候，就把球丢给大鲨鱼，他能说什麽吗?(菸~)现在，
有谁跟他当时的等级是类似的呢?如果他们把球给老二或其他人打掉，抠比会生气，然後
他们又回到球给志杰战术，因为没有人在差不多的等级。」
Well, how about a certain 7-foot tall Spaniard? "Pau (Gasol) doesn't have the
demeanor," Shaw said. "He's a nice guy. Shaq might've been like, `Give me the
ball.' And Kobe might've been like, `Give me the ball.' If you give it to
Shaq, it's OK. If you give it to Pau and it doesn't work out, then Kobe might
get on you. That's just something the players have to work out."
恩，那个七尺西班牙人勒?「炮嘎兽没有这样的行为，他是好人，当大鲨鱼说『球拿来！』
抠比也说『球杀来！』时，球给大鲨鱼，相安无事。但现在如果你球给炮嘎兽然後打不出
什麽鸟，抠比会不爽你。这就是球员要去解决的问题。」
Shaw did not intend his remarks to come off as critical of Bryant, merely
explanatory. It's a blessing-and-curse issue the Lakers' coaching staff has
gladly dealt with for years, only sometimes finding answers.
萧不是故意要拿他的所见来批评抠比，仅仅只是解释。这个是祝福也是咒诅的难题湖人的
教练们已经处理几年了，而只有某些时候有找到答案。
In the past couple of years, Shaw said, Bryant and coach Phil Jackson have
developed a level of trust where Jackson is OK with Bryant calling plays on
his own or deviating from what Jackson has drawn up.
萧说，在过去几年，抠比和肥尔爷爷达到一个互信的层次，就是肥尔爷爷默许抠比用他自己
的方式打球，或是偏离肥尔爷爷设定的打法。
"There's a trust that we have that he's going to - we know that he's trying
to win the game," Shaw said.
「这个信任就是我们需要抠比，也知道他就是试着想赢得比赛的胜利。」萧说。
"There are a lot of times when Phil will call a play, but he'll have a feel
for what's going on out on the floor and say, `No, no, no. I already got
something going.'
「常常肥尔爷爷设定一套进攻，但抠比会从场上情况判断并说『不，不，我已经想好要怎
麽做了。』」
"Phil trusts that. Now if (Jackson) wants to override it he will, but a lot
of times now if Kobe's feeling something or seeing the way (things are
going), he's the one out there dealing with it, so Phil kind of lets him go
with it.
「肥尔相信他。有的时候肥尔想推翻抠比，但常常抠比感觉到什麽或看到什麽方法，他会
尝试着处理，所以肥尔有时就会放手让他去。」
"Ten years ago, it wouldn't have been that way. It would have been Phil's way
or no way. But that's a mutual respect that they have and have grown to work
together with."
「十年前才不会是这样，你不用肥尔的方法就拉倒。但现在他们在一起工作学到了互相尊
重。」
The key for the Lakers, which even Bryant acknowledges, is making sure he
keeps his teammates involved throughout the game, even sometimes at the
expense of his own rhythm.
湖人的关键点，这点抠比也知道，就是让队友参与在比赛当中，即使有时候会打乱他自己
的节奏。
"I mean, my responsibility on this team, I have to do a little bit more, I've
got to score and facilitate," Bryant said. "I've got to get my guys involved
sometimes. Sometimes you're sacrificing your rhythm to try to rebuild it. (In
Game 3) I couldn't regenerate it.
「我的意思是，我对这支球队有责任，我必须要多做一点，我要得分要推动这支球队。我
必须要让我的队友参与进来。有时候你牺牲你的节奏试着重建起来。在第三战，我没办法
重新找我我的节奏。」抠比如是说。
"You know, if everybody is not in rhythm, if I feel like my guys are struggling
that night, then I'll shoot through it. Guys get things going, then I'll keep
going to them and try to find my way through it that way."
「你知道的，如果大家都不在节奏内打球，如果我觉得队友们打的很挣扎，那我就会多射
一点。队友找回感觉，那我就多让他们发挥，并重新调整我的打法。」
That sensory ability is something that's evolved over time, sometimes painfully
and publicly.
这样的察觉能力是会随时间过去而进化的，但有时後很痛苦也会被大众放大来检视。
Shaw said the coaching staff can only do so much in that regard. That it's up
to his teammates to be more assertive and confident in their reads and
reactions to Bryant for things to evolve to the next level.
老萧说对於这个顾虑教练团能做的就这麽多而已，关键在於他的队友要能打的更果断，对
自己在场上的判读还有反抗抠比更有信心，才能让球队再升级。
If his teammates hang back, Bryant will push into the void. Even if he's
tired. Even if he's past his limit.
如果他的队友却步，抠比又将进入一忘我之境界，尽管他累了，尽管他已超出极限了。
"It's part of growing up and playing with a player as great as he is," Shaw
said. "Even as teammates, sometimes they're fans of his on the floor while
the game's going on, and that's the tough part.
「这就是跟他这麽棒的球员一起打球的成长吧。有时候即使是队友，其实在比赛进行到最
艰难时，队友也都是他的球迷。」
"Trying to figure out how to get them over that."
「试着想出方法帮助他们跨过鸿沟吧。」
