标题[问题] 图表 caption的置中及断行

这个问题果扰了我很久
想请教一下 有谁知道如何将caption内的句子做置中及断行吗？
我试了\\ 及\centering在 \caption{}环境内都无法成功的编译
比如
\begin{figure}
[..]
\caption{
\centering This is an example
\\ of a long long long caption}
\end{figure}
