January 4, 2005 LOS ANGELES (TICKER) -- Los Angeles Clippers forward Chris Wilcox, in the midst of the best season of his brief career, was diagnosed with a lower right leg stress reaction Tuesday and is sidelined indefinitely. Wilcox informed the medical staff of discomfort in his right leg 10 days ago. After a treatment program proved ineffective, Wilcox underwent an MRI on Tuesday and was diagnosed with the condition - which is caused by repetitive pounding and overuse - by team physician Dr. Tony Daly. The condition will be monitored and Wilcox will be re-evaluated on a weekly basis. Considered a project when he was drafted in 2002, Wilcox was showing dramatic improvement this season, averaging career highs in points (10.1), rebounds (5.1) and minutes (23.5) in 29 games.
