Our young scientists will learn how to make electric PlayDoh, Silly Putty, and even Glow in the dark Goo. Create balloon and propeller powered LEGO cars. Then make airpowered dragsters and rocket cars to put your skills to the test. Discover the wonders of space by creating air and waterpowered rockets before launching them 100’s of feet in the air! Learn all about circuits and electricity by building your own backpack alarm or selfdriving robot. Students will then work in teams to create elaborate Hot Wheels test courses complete with huge ramps, curves, loops and jumps to deepen their understanding of potential and kinetic energy. Students will then explore, Scratch, a graphical programming language developed at MIT which introduces kids to fundamental programming concepts like variables, loops and conditional statements. In this course young students enter the world of computer science by learning how to create animations, computer games, and interactive projects. As they teach a mischievous cat to dance, explore a maze, or play mini games, students learn how to use math and computer coding to think creatively. No previous programming skills required!
