G League guard Trey Burke strongly prefers to sign with the Knicks, who would
need to open up a roster spot via trade or by releasing a player to make room
for Burke. There are trades avaialable for NYK, which is reportedly in contrac

Burke is averaging 26.6 points per game on 49 percent shooting for the Westche
ster Knicks, New York's G League club.
Burke, a former Jazz lottery pick, is only 25. With Westchester he is averagin
g 26.6 points, 5.4 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals, but scouts say his de
fense isn’t up to snuff. At 6-foot-1, he’s also a small point guard — which
could give the Knicks matchup problems.
