"That was the right thing to do, I think," the coach said. Nine months later, it's hard to argue Woodson on that one. "He treats everyone the same," Chandler said. "It does not matter who he's talking to. He speaks to everyone the same way. He demands the same thing out of everyone and that's respect, hard work and being a professional." When D’Antoni couldn’t quite make it work, he saw the reason as outside of their control. "The biggest challenge is we didn’t have a point guard, also," D’Antoni said. "Then we had [Jeremy] Lin for a very little [while], then I kind of departed. That was the hardest challenge. Then we had a strike year. That was hard. The year before we made the playoffs and did what we did with Chauncey [Billups], but then we lost Chauncey and got Tyson [Chandler], which we needed — and we had no point guard." "Just listen," he said.
