Chandler embraced his role in the team’s offense as strictly an inside presence, and mastered the art of the alley-oop and the put-back, raising his field-goal percentage to 68.2 percent through Friday. The last player to have a margin that large was, of course, Chamberlain in his final season, 1972-73, when he shot 72.7 percent from the floor, 15.7 percentage points ahead of Matt Guokas, who shot 57 percent.
