Upon further review, a re-evaluation by a hand specialist on Monday night
revealed that Jeffries' injury does require surgery. His original timetable
suggested it was possible he could return by the end of November.
Now his recovery time has been reset to 6-to-8 weeks, which means the Knicks

not see their mid-level exception signee until Christmas.
