Frings explains Juve snub

Werder Bremen midfielder Torsten Frings has explained in detail why he
turned down Juventus' offer to move to Italy. “Money isn't everything.”
The German international had been heavily paired with the Bianconeri
over the past few months and seemed set for a summer move.
However, despite being spotted in Turin with his wife Petra
and his agent Norbert Pflippen, he extended his contract
with the Bundesliga outfit on Wednesday.
尽管 Frings被看到跟妻子 Petra还有经纪人 Norbert Pflippen出现在都灵，
他仍在周三跟母球会续约了。
“Werder are my life, I feel at home here. I was at Dortmund
and I was at Munich, but here I like it the best,” explained Frings.
他说：「Werder是我的生命，在这我感觉就像在家里，
我曾在多特蒙德也去过慕尼黑，但是我最喜欢这里。」
“My heart made this decision. A transfer to Juventus wouldn't have been
good for me. They are a great club but Werder are much more important.
「我的感情做出了决定，转会到 JUVE对我并不好，
他们是间伟大的球会，但是 Werder更为重要。」
“I had been offered a big contract, but money isn't everything,”
concluded Frings, who signed a new contract until June 30, 2011.
「我曾拿到一份优渥的合约，但是钱并不是一切。」
Coach Thomas Schaaf was delighted about the midfielder's decision to stay.
该队主教练 Thomas Schaaf为 Frings的留队决定感到高兴。
“Our strength comes partly from Frings' personality, we now have
consistency and can go on achieving our mutual goals,” he explained.
「我们的实力在一定程度上来自於 Frings的性格，
我们现在保有协调性并且朝共同的目标前进。」
Juve sporting director Alessio Secco hid his disappointment
at the failed transfer, stating that Frings is not
the club's only summer target.
Secco藏起对这起失败转会的失望，声明 Frings并非球队今夏的惟一目标。
“Our offer was very interesting, but if the player was not motivated
it was better for him to stay with his current club,” said the Juventino.
「我们的报价很值得关注，但是如果球员缺乏动机，
对他来说还是留在目前的球会比较好。」
“He wasn't our only option, we have several other targets
and his decision did not wrong-foot us,” added Secco.
「他不是我们惟一的选择，我们有许多其他的目标，
他的决定并不会令我们仓皇失措。」
