More importantly, the pressing issue of under what conditions future games are to be played also remains unresolved. At this afternoon's press conference, Didier Deschamps attempted to provide answers to the new set of questions raised by the tragic events of Catania. “The images from Friday night are unacceptable - began the coach – It's the duty of the government and of the clubs to guarantee the safety of those going to the stadium. It's ridiculous that people are risking their lives, be it fans or policemen. Suspending play immediately was the right thing to, not just for the sake of it but to free up the time necessary to make important decisions”. All the controversies that happen before and after the game only serve to flare up the situation, to increase the aggression.
