He has recorded at least one assist in each of the other 1,085 games he has played. 3 Number of times Kidd has led the league in total assists (1998-99, 2000-01 and 2002-03). Comparatively, Magic Johnson led the league in assists three times, Mark Jackson led it once and John Stockton led the league nine times. 6.1 Assists per game Kidd would need to average over the Mavs' final 22 games this season to pass Johnson for third place all-time. 9.5 Assists per game Kidd has averaged in his career in weekend games (Friday-Sunday).
