Celtic confirm Nakamura by Patrick Goss - created on 25 Jul 2005 Celtic have confirmed the signing of Shunsuke Nakamura from Reggina. Nakamura becomes Celtic's seventh summer signing, as new manager Gordon Strachan looks to put his stamp on the side. The Japan international has agreed a three-year deal with The Bhoys, and will be keen to show that he can make the grade in Scotland. Strachan was overjoyed to sign the 27-year-old, insisting that the Celtic fans would quickly be won over by his creativity. "Once he's out on the pitch, I'm sure our fans will realise very quickly why we were so keen to secure his signature," Strachan told the club's official website. "He's a very special talent. "He's a player who can bring an extra dimension to any team, and having done our homework on him and asked many people about his background and temperament, we are delighted the deal has been done.
