以前我会自己写...现在年纪大了真的是懒了 -_-||| 总之以後有机会时间我会尝试自己写 这样大家也有好讨论的空间 (至少明年世界盃一定会有) 这里还是先贴上 FIFA.com 的文章给大家参考 之後再翻译编入中 --- Defences under spotlight in Frankfurt 18 June 2005 by FIFAworldcup.com After losing their opening FIFA Confederations Cup games, Greece and Japan face each other in a match both must win at the Waldstadion in Frankfurt on Sunday if they are to stand any realistic chance of progressing in the tournament. Greece suffered the rare setback of conceding three goals against the attacking brilliance of Brazil, who constantly stretched the Greek defence with the speed, skill and movement of Ronaldinho, Robinho and Kaka. Japan started better, taking an early lead against Mexico in Hanover, but they were eventually undone by a towering leap and exceptional header by Jose Fonseca that condemned the Asian champions to a 2-1 defeat. Brazil and Mexico exploited the defensive achilles heel of both these teams perfectly. The Greek defence is powerful and well organised, but their three imposing centre-backs could not cope with the sheer pace of Brazil's attacking forays. Fonseca, meanwhile, was able to take advantage of Japan's lack of height at the back. Interestingly, both Greece and Japan will face the same problems from each other when they meet at the weekend. But on the other side of the coin, both sets of forwards will sense opportunities to trouble the opposing defence and score goals. Greece striker Angelos Charisteas thrives on the long ball and competes strongly in the air to win knock-downs for the supporting midfield players. And his headed goals against France and then Portugal in the UEFA EURO 2004 final demonstrated the aerial threat he poses. Standing at 1.92m tall, Charisteas towers above the 1.78m Makoto Tanaka, who was the tallest Japanese defender on display against Mexico. The Ajax striker is usually partnered by Zisis Vryzas, who clocks in at 1.82m. To make matters worse for the Japanese defence, Greece also score a good number of goals from set-pieces, throwing their even taller central defenders forward at corners and free-kicks to cause havoc with their height and strength. This is a problem that Japan coach Zico recognised after their game against Mexico, when he told journalists: "It was difficult for the goalkeeper (Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi) as we weren't able to deal with the balls coming at us in the air." Speaking to FIFAworldcup.com after Japan's first training session in Frankfurt on Friday, Zico picked up on the same theme as he said: "We had problems with high balls into the box and that was how Mexico won the match. We have to be more careful, as mistakes against Greece could prove fatal." The Brazilian said it was an obvious ploy for teams to play on Japan's lack of height at the back and stressed the need for his players to try and avoid conceding free-kicks in dangerous positions. "In Asia teams don't play this way so much but we've already played against teams with a strong aerial threat. European sides always play this way against Japan and don't forget Japan were knocked out of the World Cup in 2002 by a header from a set-piece. "It is a problem because Japanese are not the tallest and my tallest defender (Yuji Nakazawa) is not here. But what we can do is try and reduce the number of fouls and not give away free-kicks and opportunities for them to use set-pieces." It is not all bad news for Japan, however, as they will have the opportunity to make the most of their strengths going forward. Hidetoshi Nakata offers a creative presence in the middle as do the two advanced midfielders Shunsuke Nakamura and Mitsuo Ogasawara. Combine their clever runs and passing with the movement up front of Atushi Yanagisawa and this should pose a few questions of the Greece defence. Like Alessandro Santos on the other side, right wing-back Akira Kaji also likes to get forward on overlapping runs and his break and cross to Yanagisawa for Japan's goal against Mexico offers a warning of what Greece can expect on Sunday. Both sets of defences came to the FIFA Confederations Cup in good form, each conceding just three goals in their last five 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. The big question is whether the two sides can recover from their opening losses and withstand the contrasting tests that each poses for the other. If not, then the Waldstadion may witness another night of thrills and goals. --
