Dear Senator XXX,
(Some self intro)
I am writing to urge you to hold S.386 for public hearing. Such controversial
bill cannot be passed blindly with unanimous consent. If it is fair, why
wouldn't the sponsor dare to let it follow the standard process: introduce,
amend, public hearing, and vote? The motivation of pushing through this bill
with unanimous consent is suspicious.
Although this bill looks like resolving the short-term backlog problem in
green card application, it will have detrimental long-term impact on the US.
This bill will destroy the higher education system and the employment system
in the US. The top universities in the US will lose the most talented and
brightest people from countries such as China, Iran, Europe, and the rest of
the world. Within a few years, the US will soon lose its competitiveness.
Also, this bill will introduce tons of outsourcing jobs, replacing US workers
with workers from a particular country who don't have US degrees and are paid
much less.
I strongly urge you to ask senate to hold this bill. This bill requires not
only public hearing but also experts' opinions on how it will impact the
society and economy of the US. If this bill passes, I foresee the US will
gradually lose its leading position in technology and economy.
Your consideration to hold this bill will be greatly appreciated,
Sincerely,
XXX
