英文写作强调文字和文意上的连贯，包括字句连贯 (cohesion) 以及语意逻辑连贯 (coherence)，也就是说句子和段落之间的词汇及主题都必须环环相扣。同学们在学习进阶英文写作时，需要多留意这些准则，写出来的文章才能符合字句连贯 (cohesion) 及语意连贯 (coherence) 两大原则。 Coherence 一般来说是指将论点与想法合逻辑地安排。 从语意的观点来看，欲写出思路清晰、逻辑连贯 (coherence) 的文章，需要注意两大重点: 1. 主题一致 (unity) 整篇文章所传达的意念需要有一致性，将相同主题的句子放在同一段落。 2. 承先启後 (logical order and transitions) 有系统地和有逻辑地提出论点。在说明论点方面，要按部就班地说明，藉此作者对於自己论点提出足够的支持理由，使读者有足够的资讯来理解作者的想法，如此一来也可使作者的论点更具有说服力和逻辑性。先介绍主题 (topic sentence)，然後循序渐进地铺陈 (major support)，最後以最新资讯作结 (details and/or exemplification)。 Cohesion 简单来说是指用有相关性的单字的语言来串连句子、段落与文章使读者在易於理解前後文。指标词（signposts and linking words) 可以加强语意连贯 (cohesion): 1. 主要指标词: 示意文章中的目的，结构，作者的立场，主要观点，争论的方向，和结论。 2. 关联词和片语: 呈现出句子和句子与段落和段落的连结。 Cohesion 的详细说明: http://www.iasj.net/iasj?func=fulltext&aId=17303 ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★ 一些主要指标词: The aim of this study is to ....
