Townsend禁赛4个月，缓期3年
在一场听证会後，汤森承认了自己的涉赌行为，英足总决定处以汤森停止一切足球运动为
期四个月的处罚，禁赛从2013年5月23日汤森自愿退出英格兰U21国家队开始，之後的三个
月则将推迟到2016年7月1日，只要再有任意涉赌确凿证据将立即执行。
Townsend在推特的回应：
Following a personal hearing at the FA and the statement issued today, I
fully accept the disciplinary action and shall not be appealing...
This has been a regrettable experience from which I fully intend to come back
stronger........
now im fully focussed on returning to football during pre-season & determined
for this indiscretion to not tarnish my career moving forward
