Jamie O'Hara was delighted to see fellow goalscorer Roman Pavlyuchenko get off the mark at Newcastle. The Russian striker bagged his first goal in only his third appearance in a Spurs shirt as we kicked-off the defence of the Carling Cup with a 2-1 win at St James Park in the third round on Wednesday night. Roman powered home a header from Aaron Lennon's cross after 62 minutes and Jamie doubled the lead two minutes later with a fine finish past Shay Given. "It's probably been a tough start for him," acknowledged Jamie. "His English isn't very good but he's a real character and we all know he'll be a great signing for the club. "It's great for him to get off the mark, it was an important goal and hopefully that will help settle him down." You wouldn't have noticed, but Jamie said his heart skipped a beat as he robbed Steven Taylor of possession and raced through with only Shay Given to beat for that second goal. "The panic button was firmly pressed when I went through," he smiled. "Shay Given is strong one on one so I decided I wasn't going to go around him, I tried to get as close as I could and not give him any time to react. "It was great to get on the scoresheet and a great result for us. "I thought we were solid in the first half and then in the second half was came out a bit more, pressed them, put them under pressure and showed what we can do. "When you are under pressure you stick together as a team and we did that at Newcastle. We're all working hard for each other."
