We actually trailed 1-0, 3-1 and then 4-3 but fought our way back on every occasion and could have won it in injury time only for Dimitar Berbatov to see his close-range effort diverted wide by a wonderful save from Carlo Cudicini. A brief summary of the game saw Didier Drogba put Chelsea 1-0 up, Jonathan Woodgate levelled, Michael Essien made it 2-1 before the break, Joe Cole struck soon after half-time for 3-1, Berbatov looped home a header for 3-2, Tom Huddlestone drilled in for 3-3, Cole finished well again for 4-3 only for Robbie Keane to save the best until last, a first-time curler into the top corner from 20 yards for 4-4 with just two minutes remaining. Juande reflected: "At 3-1 down in the second half against a side like Chelsea it's always going to be difficult but the game was open and the team believed in it's possibilities. Scoring soon after 3-1 also helped. "We had to push forward, there was a minimal risk towards our own goal so we pushed on looking for victory and could have scored a fifth goal right at the end. "It wasn't to be but I'm very happy with the effort the team put in." It wasn't lost on Juande that high-scoring thrillers have been somewhat of a theme at the Lane this season - Wednesday night's 4-4 draw made it a total of 67 goals in 14 league games this season and with 41, we've scored more home goals than any other team.
