"It was excellent," the Uruguayan coach told Sky Sports. "We started the game with two goals and then we did not risk too much when they went down to ten men. "We kept the ball well and of course we were still looking for the third goal. "It was a very good performance. I'm very happy. "We knew it would be difficult because of what happened to West Ham in the last couple of games, so it was important to start well. "They were two great headers, two great deliveries from Tom Huddlestone. And when you have a player like Berba you know you are going to get goals." Poyet had no complaints with Chris Foy's decision to dismiss Boa Morte following a challenge on Aaron Lennon, as he felt the Hammers midfielder had committed several other offences. He explained: "He made too many fouls. Sometimes players get away with seven or eight fouls but today the referee was checking on him. "I think most people in the stadium were suspecting that sooner or later Boa Morte would be sent off." Poyet was delighted that Gilberto broke his duck for the club after a difficult debut in the 1-0 defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Uefa Cup on Thursday. The return leg is on Wednesday and Poyet feels the performance against West Ham will send Spurs to Holland in the best possible frame of mind. "Of course the goal helps. He has a lot of quality and we believe in him a lot," said Poyet. "Looking forward to Wednesday, we need to keep a clean sheet against PSV so it was important to keep defending well. "It will be a very difficult game because they are a good side.
