Three points, up three places and three clean sheets - a treble that made Juande Ramos a happy man after Sunday's 4-0 win against Wigan. The visitors were swept away by a fine first half performance with Jermaine Jenas pulling the strings from midfield and Dimitar Berbatov at his cunning best up front. JJ netted twice in that first half and would surely have claimed one of the goals of the season if he'd managed to complete his hat-trick after a fantastic one-touch move at the end of the half only to clip his finish just wide from six yards. Aaron Lennon volleyed home the third before the interval after Dimitar Berbatov pulled down Paul Robinson's 80-yard clearance. JJ was later denied a hat-trick by the linesman's flag before Darren Bent drilled home the fourth. We still had time to hit the woodwork twice and Chris Kirkland produced another save out of the top drawer to deny Didier Zokora a famous first goal. The 4-0 result made it three clean sheets in four games under Juande and our new management team while the victory lifted us up to 14th in the table. "I'm happy with the scoreline but the thing I'm more happy about is that in the four matches I've been coach, we've kept three clean sheets," reflected Juande. "Once you get clean sheets, the players play much better and with more confidence. "The team attacks well but we have to be good defensively as well - that gives us more solidity and means we'll perform better. "I'm especially satisfied with the three points because sometimes you get the three points and the teams around you also win, so you don't really go up the table.
