An old knee injury flared up following England's draw with FYR Macedonia on Saturday, a game in which King produced a starring display. The problem failed to settle at the start of the week and McClaren decided against taking King to Croatia for Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier. The move has enabled King to head back to Tottenham for treatment, leading Jol to praise McClaren. "Ledley had a slight problem with fluid on his knee after the Macedonia game and England have made the right decision not to take him to Croatia," said the Dutch tactician. "He has had this problem for the last couple of weeks, he plays and then afterwards he has a little inflammation or fluid, but after a couple of days' rest, he's fine and able to play again.
