新闻来源 - Sky Sports Genk deny Spurs contact Belgian outfit Genk have denied reports which suggested starlet Sven Verdonck was on his way to Tottenham. Spurs chief Martin Jol is keen to keep Tottenham moving forward and has already shelled out some 11 million on Dimitar Berbatov, while Carlton Cole could soon be on his way to North London from Chelsea. Jol is also looking to strengthen his back-line and reports suggested he was on the cusp of thrashing out a deal with Genk for teenage stopper Verdonck. The reports have been met with surprise by Genk, who have issued a statement denying any contact with the White Hart Lane club. "As a result of an article which appeared in Het Nieuwsblad concerning a possible transfer of Sven Verdonck to Tottenham, the club would like to clarify the position," a statement on Genk's website read. "We deny that there has been any contact from Tottenham both with KRC Genk and Verdonck.
