The England international moved to North London from Newcastle last summer for 7 million and admits his career at The Magpies was going nowhere. With Spurs and Arsenal battling it out for the final UEFA Champions League spot, Jenas craves for a chance of playing in Europe, and he will go a long way to achieving that dream with a win over their local rivals this weekend. "I want to play in Europe and I want to achieve things with Spurs," Jenas told The Times. "I thought the Champions League was possible when I came here. "I wasn't developing as a footballer at Newcastle, but I looked around the dressing room here and knew we had the quality. There is a good core of young, English players and there is a great feeling." There is still the distinct possibility Arsenal could qualify for the Champions League at the expense of Spurs despite not finishing fourth, should The Gunners win the competition this season. Although Jenas is normally a supporter of English clubs in Europe, he admits he would be happy to see them lose this time. "I always want English clubs to do well in Europe, but I'd like them to lose and for us to get fourth place," he added. "We're trying to achieve something special here. "I'm not going to discredit what Arsenal and Arsene Wenger have done, all that success, league titles and cups, but Spurs fans deserve a bit of it too.
