Jol: We were lucky
Martin Jol admitted that Tottenham were fortunate to beat Blackburn.
Spurs had gone two goals ahead through Robbie Keane, but Rovers dominated for
large periods and deservedly levelled through Florent Sinama-Pongolle and
Craig Bellamy.
The North London outfit secured victory thanks to Mido strike just a minute
after Bellamy's equaliser.
"I think the first half was okay. They have a terrific side but they had
difficulties recently against West Brom and Everton with 10 men, so you think
they maybe have a problem with the initiative but they certainly didn't in
the second half," Jol told Sky Sports.
"The first half was ideal with two goals but then to concede and make it 2-1
just before half-time was unfortunate.
"In the second half, they took the game to us and I thought they were terrific,
and in the end I thought we were a bit fortunate.
"
I imagine Mark [Hughes] is a bit unhappy tonight."
Two-goal hero Keane reiterated Jol's sentiments and admitted Spurs were lucky
to take all three points.
"We made hard work of it," Keane added.
"In the second half, they were the better side.
"We couldn't get the ball off them, Mark Hughes has his team playing like
that and credit to them.
"Maybe the scoreline flattered us but we're happy with three points."

Jol
