Blackwell knows the former Sheffield United man well from his time as coach at Bramall Lane and is keen to bolster his side ahead of a concerted push for promotion. However, despite finding his first team opportunities limited by the likes of Edgar Davids and Jermaine Jenas in the White Hart Lane engine room, Leeds supporter Brown has decided to stay in London and fight for his place. Blackwell admitted his disappointment at failing to land Brown on a season-long agreement and will now pursue other options. "I think Michael is still highly regarded at Spurs," said Blackwell.
