Through this outburst of pride Justine, who never went any further than the quarterfinals stage in Coubertin -in two participations, showed she didn’t come to Paris aimlessly. Often injured, she is used to making incredible comebacks on the circuit and since April 2006, she has played the finals of the seven tournaments she committed to. Continuing on her run, the triple winner of the French Open (2003, 2005, 2006) dug the gap in the sixth game to a comfortable 5-2 lead after confirming her break. Eventually, she put an end to the match in 1h22 after breaking for the fourth time (3-6, 6-2, 6-2). On Friday, the Belgian will try to reach the last stage for the first time in Coubertin. The name of her opponent will depend on the outcome of tomorrow’s match between the French Tatiana Golovin and the Russian Ekaterina Bychkova.
