A team spirit was forged, thanks to captain Carl Maes this week off court. By the arrival time of matches the camaraderie remained, and helped Belgium to victory. It's important to remember that Justine, and Kim have been vulnerable this season on the WTA tour, and that point could've been exploited to their disadvantage. Pushed by the Belgian public, the Nadia Petrova three set quality win could be looked upon later as the turning point for Justine this season. In her second match at Fed Cup on day two, the Henin-Hardenne loved, and feared most came to perform. It was Justine at her immaculate best, winning 6-2 6-0 in one hour and 11 minutes against Elena Dementieva. In the tradition of James Brown, and never ending glowing showmanship, Justine returned back on court with Kim to lavish the hometown crowd to a rarity of all gems; a star pairing doubles match. Team Belgium Justine and Kim lost in the entertaining doubles match to Dinara and Maria 7-6(7-4) 7-5. Belgium will now have to face the USA in July for the Fed Cup semi-final, to be played in Belgium. The match will take place after Wimbledon, and it's too early for commitments to be made. "We'll have to look at the calendar, it's always very hard to predict what's going to happen, let's go step-by-step," Justine said after Sunday's victory over Elena. No doubt, Justine and Belgium would love to live this beautiful experience once more in July, but there's too much to savour right now.
