If the first nine games of her third-round match against Yoon Jeong Cho are any indication, she has more than a few years left in top form. The 2003 US Open champion beat Cho, 6-0, 7-6 (4). Henin-Hardenne did not drop a game in the first set, her stiffest test coming in the sixth game, when Cho forced three deuces and had the advantage twice. She then went up three games to love in the second. The seventh-seeded Henin-Hardenne really struggled in the second set, allowing Cho to go up 5-4 and tie it at six. She became tentative, letting Cho control the flow of the match. "I think I played the first set and the beginning of the second with a very high intensity," Henin-Hardenne said. "I was playing very well, then lost a little bit of my (aggressiviness)." Each time the cagey Belgian found herself in trouble, she responded with quick drop shots and slashing backhands. Henin-Hardenne scored 32 winners to only nine for Cho. In her second-round match, Henin-Hardenne could not get her serve going; this time it was the unforced errors that hurt her the most. She tallied 28 for the match. Cho last reached the third round of the US Open in 2002, as a qualifier, before falling to Monica Seles. The Korean has enjoyed a steady climb to 73rd in the rankings this year but has yet to win a singles title on the WTA Tour. Henin-Hardenne responded to questions about being overlooked as a contender and why everyone is talking about the Williams sisters and Lindsay Davenport. "It's just on the court that we can see the real fights. It's not what everybody else can say," Henin-Hardenne said. "I'm going to try to prove on the court that I'm part of the (group of) players who can go to the end of the tournament." At 23, Henin-Hardenne is hardly at the tail-end of her career. She is gunning for her second Grand Slam this year, after taking the title at Roland Garros, and her fourth overall. In the round of 16, the road only gets tougher. Henin-Hardenne commented on the road ahead and her possible opponent in the fourth round, either Jelena Jankovic or Mary Pierce. "I'm more comfortable when I know I'm going to play a seeded player, " the Belgian said. "And it's going to be a good test for me, anyway. Both of them are playing very well. It's going to be a tough match in the fourth round, but it's going to be a good test for me and very interesting." --
